"I see the Humanities literature as an underutilized resource for medical education, and hope that we integrate this into mainstream education. I envisage the Humanities, reflecting the ability of doctors to listen, engage, empathize and reflect on patients' experiences, taking a key place in representing the voice of patients and doctors. The Patient Doctor II course for second year medical students uses selected readings to provide triggers for discussion and point of view writing assignments in all its modules. In addition to written literary works, cinema, stage plays and music are broader areas of Humanities education that I am open to exploring. Communication from students and educators in all these areas is most welcome. I would like to collaborate on curricula in the medical Humanities from other schools, especially in the area of evaluation."
