Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency

The UCI Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program was founded in 1969 and is fully accredited.

Message from the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training Director

I am excited that you are interested in learning more about our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency.  As you look through our website, you will become familiar with our mission to provide excellent education in a supportive environment.  Our training program emphasizes training in both biological and psychosocial modalities.  Education, both clinical and didactic, is our top priority.  All clinical experiences are chosen with the expectation that they will provide excellent exposure to the wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses and issues facing children and adolescents.  Both our full-time faculty, part-time faculty, and volunteer faculty are highly dedicated to the education of residents and students.

Our program was recently evaluated by the ACGME Residency Review Committee, and we were given a full five years’ accreditation.  We have also expanded our program from two Fellows per year to three Fellows per year, and are adding new the faculty as well.

I invite you to apply to our program as well as to contact myself or any of the Fellows if you have any questions or require further information.  Thank you for evaluating and considering our program!
