The General Clinical Research Center is the central hub of UCI Medical Center research. Two members of the pediatric faculty participate
full-time in the pediatric studies conducted at the GCRC:
Pietro Galassetti, M.D., Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Pietro Galassetti is currently studying hypoglycemia and exercise in
children and adolescents with Type I diabetes as well as the effects of rapid changes in plasma glucose concentration and metabolism
on exhaled volatile organic compounds.
Frank Zaldivar, Ph.D.
Specialist
Dr. Zaldivar is conducting research on exercise, cytokines and growth factors in overweight children.
