Infectious Disease - Introduction

Behnoosh Afghani, M.D.

The goal of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Division is to provide high-quality outpatient and inpatient patient care for children with acute and chronic infections. The Pediatric Infectious Disease faculty members work closely with the Adult Infectious Disease Division to oversee the Infection Control issues at the University Children's Hospital. The faculty contributes extensively to teaching through seminars for the residents and medical students. Through research electives, the Pediatric Infectious Disease faculty members teach basic research skills to residents and medical students interested in academic medicine.
