The Division of General Pediatrics at UCI is an association of faculty who value generalism in their practice.

The premier general academic pediatric group in the country, the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, has a mission statement which sums up the feeling of our faculty. Their goal is to "foster the health of children, adolescents, and families by promoting generalism in academic pediatrics and academics in general pediatrics. General pediatrics and generalism concern the whole child in the context of the family and community. Our mission is accomplished through patient care, academics (teaching and research), and advocacy."

At UCI we are primary care physicians, hospitalists, and specialists in infectious diseases and behavior & development. All of us see patients in both the ambulatory setting and in the hospital. All of us teach medical students and residents (and love it!).
