Child Development Center - Introduction

James M. Swanson, Ph.D.
Executive Director

Many children suffer from developmental problems during childhood. These problems include disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, conduct disorders, and other emotional and behavioral disabilities. Most of these are not outgrown. However, accurate diagnosis and early treatment can reduce failure and frustration associated with these problems and prevent complications which often emerge later in life.

Over the past two decades, The UCI Child Development Center has developed many programs to provide service to the community. These programs provide children with developmental disabilities the chance to overcome these problems and succeed in society.
