Application Process For A Graduate Of An Osteopathic School (DO)
If you are or will be a graduate of an Osteopathic Medical School (DO):
This year’s deadline for submission of a completed application is November 1, 2006.
Please submit all of the required application materials (NO PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED)
Osteopathic students and graduates MUST have taken USMLE Step I and be scheduled or have taken Step II and awaiting for their score in order to be granted an interview.R APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED)
The following are required application materials:
- ERAS Application
- USMLE Scores Steps I & II (or date the part II of exam is to be taken)
- Medical School Transcripts
- Photograph
- CV/Resume
- Personal Statement
- Current CPR, ACLS or BLS certificate
- Three letters of recommendation (at least two from Orthopaedic Surgeons and/or Chair or Program Director from an Orthopaedic Surgery Program)
- Dean’s Letter
Interview dates for 2008-09 applicants will be held February
1st & 2nd, 2008 at the University of California, Irvine
Medical Center in Orange County, California. Applications
for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program is conducted
and accepted ONLY through the Electronic Residency Program
Application Service (ERAS – http://www.aamc.org/ERAS)
NO MATERIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED OUTSIDE OF ERAS. All applicants
will be notified if an interview has been granted via ERAS
e-mail.
UC Irvine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Training Program provides a five-year continuous program. We DO NOT offer preliminary positions in which an intern or resident may plan to transition into a fellowship before completing residency training.
