Pitch discrimination is a hearing test which measures your ability to resolve differences in frequency. In this test, you will hear three pure tones, with one of them having a higher pitch. Your job is to select the tone with higher pitch by pointing and clicking your mouse to its corresponding light. Depending on your response, the pitch difference between the three tones may become more or less or totally undetectable. You have to guess even if you are not sure. You should keep going until the the program stops. The computer program will automatically track your response and calculate the smallest pitch difference that you can detect.

Experimental conditions: 100 msec in duration and 1,000 Hz as the standard frequency.

Let's first play the calibration stimulus to set the overall volume of your speaker or headphone at the maximally comfortable level. The test may last 5 to 10 minutes. Are you ready for the test?
