About the EpiCenter:

bulletThe EpiCenter is comprised of Researchers and Scientists / Physicians who use a diverse array of scientific approaches to study the mechanisms and consequences of the Epilepsies. Faculty members of the Center belong to several participating departments at UCI as well as at UCLA, and engage in basic and disease-oriented research in Neuroscience, Genetics, Imaging and Modeling/computational approaches.

 

bulletThe center is located on the campus of the University of California, Irvine, Participating laboratories occupy several modern buildings with an array of Core Facilities.

 

bulletFaculty members of the center belong to several participating departments within the UCI college of Medicine and the Schools of Biological Sciences and Engineering at UCI, and Neuroscience departments at UCLA.

 

bulletThe EpiCenter is directed by an Executive Committee chaired by Tallie Z. Baram and including Profs. Christine M. Gall, Charles E. Ribak, Ivan Soltesz  and John H. Weiss. Administrative support is provided by the department of Anatomy & Neurobiology.

 

bulletCenter Activities include a Seminar Series, and yearly Symposium. In 2008, as in 2004, the EpiCenter Symposium is an international workshop with contribution of the best in the field. See link on this website.

 

bulletPotential Graduate or Postgraduate Trainees who are interested in joining one of the EpiCenter laboratories  should contact the laboratory directly. Training is supported by several UCI training grants, including the post-doctoral NIH Training Grant in Epilepsy Research.
