Celebrate EMS Week - May 18-24, 2008

EMS Week 2005

EMS Week is a special week designed to honor doctors, nurses, police officers, fire personnel, paramedics, EMT's, health educators and many others who provide emergency services to the public.

Here in Orange County our community partners will host public awareness events that will focus on educating Orange County residents about the valuable services that our EMS providers offer. We will promote information that includes, but is not limited to CPR, fire safety, helmet safety and car seat safety.

EMS Awards Ceremony will be hosted on May 21st at UCI Medical Center.

ATTENTION TRANSPORTING AGENCIES

There has been an ongoing overflow of backboards and prehospital equipment left at UCI. Please retrieve your agencies equipment in a timely manner.

Equipment left over 30 days will be donated.

Patient Follow-Up

EMS crews can contact us for follow up of cases they bring to UCI. Forms are available in the radio room and the paramedic lounge. Complete the forms with the required information and follow up will be provided to you on the patient outcomes, injuries, ect.

Summer Mandatory In-services

The Mandatory Updates that were scheduled to begin in June will be delayed to begin in January 2009.  System implementation of the Update material will be scheduled for mid-March 2009.  Anticipated training time will be 3 hours per session.

Just a reminder that during the construction of the new hospital at UCI Medical Center, parking for emergency vehicles has changed. Parking for emergency vehicles and fire trucks will be adjacent to the new CT trailer. The CT trailer is expected to be in that location for approximately one year. Thank you for all your patience during our construction!!
