Conference Call Meeting minutes

October 3rd, 2001

Present: Sarah Keating, Dana Rutledge, Polly Walker, Diane Welch, Arlene Sargent; Susan Odegard-Turner

Update on Tri-partnership Implementation:

Sarah Keating gave an update on the data collection of the Tri-Partnerships. The process of collecting data at the three sites encountered difficulties with student scheduling that was not anticipated. The students often worked different shifts than the data collector resulting in insufficient opportunities to retrieve data. As a result, the three sites are now obtaining data from new graduates from both ADN and BSN educational programs using the identified competencies. The sites will submit this data to Dana Rutledge as soon as it is available. She will do a preliminary analysis prior to the December 4^th meeting.

Preparation for December 4^th meeting

The meeting will be held from 10-3 at the Ontario Hilton. Suggested agenda for the meeting is as follows:

• 10-12 Reports from each of the Tri-Partnership groups. Review of data analysis
• 12 noon Lunch; Work in small groups to discuss how data could be presented in a panel at the Summit in May
• 1-3 Finalize material for panel presentation

• What can we learn from the preliminary analysis?
• How can we use the data?
• Where do we go from here? Next steps?
• Review of 2001 goals

Sarah and Arlene announced that an article on "Testing California’s Differentiated Practice Model" was accepted for publication in the January 2002 issue of Nursing Administration Quarterly.

The meeting adjourned at 3:30.
