Tag Along

The Geriatric Tag Along experience offers all medical students the opportunity to literally “tag along” with faculty from the Geriatrics Program when they see geriatric patients or attend community activities. Students may choose to follow Geriatricians in a variety of sites:

  • Health Assessment Program for Seniors, a comprehensive, half-day assessment for ambulatory older adults and their caregivers.
  • Home visits
  • Orange County Forensic Center to field Elder Mistreatment.
  • Adult Day Services
  • Long Term Care
  • Hospital Consultations

Visits can also be facilitated to community activities such as:

  • Family orientation meetings at the Orange County Alzheimer’s Association

The length of the tag along experience is generally a half-day. Students may sign up for as many tag alongs as they desire.

For more information, and to sign up for geriatric tag alongs, contact Ann Abrams, course coordinator, at 714-456-6770 or e-mail her at aabrams@uci.edu.
