Program in Geriatrics

_blank Welcome to the web site of the Program in Geriatrics at the University of California, Irvine. We are an interdisciplinary group of professionals whose mission is to address the needs of people over the age of sixty-five and those who love them. We are committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care in a variety of settings and to providing leadership in geriatric education, research, advocacy, and community outreach.

As Americans enjoy a greater life expectancy, the focus of health care must shift from merely keeping people alive longer to making those later years healthier and more meaningful. Our goal is to help our patients be their best whether you are in excellent health or in the late stages of a difficult illness such as Alzheimer’s disease. With this aim in mind, we offer consultative services for healthy aging as well as for memory loss and chronic illnesses that impair daily function. We educate new physicians about ways they can participate in optimizing their patients’ quality of life and function. Our program is also nationally recognized for its Center Of Excellence in Elder Abuse and Neglect. I encourage you to explore that website with its link available here as well.

Thank you for visiting. You are welcome to contact me at 714-456-5530 or via email Mosqueda@uci.edu
