The Department of Biological Chemistry in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, is a family of almost 200 individuals made up of faculty, staff and students, who are all committed to higher education. Within our group, we have 28 faculty members of which 12 are solely appointed to our department, 4 have shared appointments and 12 are joint appointments; we have postdoctoral fellows and graduate students from all corners of the globe with the remaining members being primarily professional research and administrative staff. Our goals are multifold in our pursuit for academic excellence and achievement in all. We are in search of a better understanding and the truth in science. We are focused in providing well-trained scientists and physicians for the future. We are here to share innovative ideas, encourage independent thinking and disseminate knowledge. And as we continue to grow and flourish, we invite you to visit our department and campus. Please contact us at 949-824-9367.
