Teaching is an important facet of my career as an academic scientist at UCI. I am currently working on identification of strategies to create dynamic learning environments that foster student engagement and development of critical thinking skills in large introductory biology classes.

My goal is for the students to begin to think like scientists, to appreciate the importance of teamwork, to understand concepts rather than just memorize facts, and to discover the excitement of biomedical research.
