Human Gross Anatomy Textbook
Dr. Leonard is a highly regarded writer and editor. His book, Human Gross Anatomy: An Outline Text, published by Oxford University Press, 1995, is a consequence of many promptings from students urging Dr. Leonard to share his wisdom on a wider scale. This book is used as textbook for the Human Gross Anatomy course at UCI.

  Clinical Anatomy Journal
The American Association of Clinical Anatomists' (AACA) journal Clinical Anatomy utilized Dr. Leonard's reviewing skills from 1994 - 1997; he assumed an Associate Editor role in 1999 and became American Editor in 2001. During this time Dr. Leonard was also Editorial Consultant for Oxford University Press and Novartis, publisher of the world-renowned Atlas of Human Anatomy by Frank Netter.
 

Medical Education: Human Gross Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy
Dr. Leonard began his association with University of California, Irvine, in 2001 as Course Director: Human Gross Anatomy. His contributions to the course include strengthening and expanding the correlation of basic human anatomy with the clinical sciences, including physical diagnosis, surgery, and radiology. He is working with the office of Curricular Affairs to vertically integrate anatomy throughout the four-year curriculum to enhance the lifelong application of anatomy in solving clinical problems.
