The Image Analysis Facility

Modern neuroscientific research requires sophisticated quantitative analyses of experimental data. The Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology offers several sophisticated Image Analysis laboratories to facilitate these analyses.

The department offers 3 MCID Image analysis systems for use with microscopic, photographic, or radiographic data. Software systems are available for densitometry, grain counts, and cell and regional morphological studies.

In addition, the department has two laser confocal microscope facilities, which offer precision fluorescent image processing. Accompanying software systems are available for 2-D and 3-D reconstruction analyses, and additional morphological analyses.
